Workplace Racial Inclusion Training & Black History Month Talks

RACIAL INCLUSION TALKS & WORKSHOPS

We offer a set of racial inclusion training options, including tailored talks and interactive workshops. Whilst these sessions are extremely complementary and work powerfully when delivered together, they can also be procured independently to suit the specific needs of your team or organisation.

With an average feedback score of 9.4 out of 10, our training is widely recognised for its relevance, depth, and ability to create safe and honest spaces for reflection and dialogue.

Both the talks and workshops are suitable for delivery across HR teams, whole staff groups, and leadership cohorts. They can be offered year-round or as part of key initiatives such as Black History Month (BHM), induction programmes, or annual inclusion training cycles.

Whether delivered on their own or in combination, our talks and workshops provide a strong foundation for institutions wanting to engage staff meaningfully, offering both the insight and the tools needed to cultivate a more racially inclusive and equitable culture.

Talk: Understanding Recent UK-Based Racial Equality Movements

Our talks are designed to deepen understanding of racial equality and equity movements, both historically and in the present day.

They begin with an introduction to key elements of Black British history, providing essential context for understanding current racial justice movements and the structural inequalities that underpin them. We also address common talking points from social and mainstream media, guiding participants from surface-level debates to meaningful, evidence-based dialogue.

While much of the focus is on the lived experiences of racially minoritised groups, the talks are primarily aimed at empowering non-minoritised individuals and institutional leaders to recognise, advocate for, and equitably consider the experiences of all groups.

To ensure relevance across sectors, we include a compelling business, CSR, and social case for racial inclusion, making these sessions especially impactful for organisations seeking to link inclusion to broader strategic goals.

Let’s Just Talk about Race: Racial Literacy, Cultural Sensitivity and Bias

Our interactive workshops focus on practical application and day-to-day realities. They are designed to build racial literacy and increase awareness of the everyday experiences of racially minoritised staff, including common microaggressions and exclusionary behaviours that often go unaddressed.

Participants are equipped with upstander intervention strategies to help them challenge offensive behaviour in real time, and are encouraged to explore how bias and stereotyping can play out in both subtle and overt ways within workplace culture.

The workshops use discussion-based exercises, real-life scenarios, and case studies to engage attendees actively and create space for peer learning. These sessions complement the talks by translating knowledge into action.

  • Exploring how bias manifests in workplace practice

The workshop, delivered by Aisha, was well-organised and engaging, combining presentations with interactive discussions to maintain interest. Anecdotal feedback showed attendees felt more confident in their roles and valued the relevance of the material, while the training itself effectively bridged key knowledge gaps. Thank you. We held a Black History Month lunch and learn, led by Aisha Sanusi, and it was impactful and inspiring. Aisha created a welcoming space that encouraged discussions and highlighted important, often-overlooked stories from black history. The presentation was overwhelmingly positive, equally eye-opening and thought-provoking, and Aisha’s approach left everyone much more informed and with a strong appreciation of black history. Bruce Bratley, CEO – First Mile

Aisha delivered a very impactful whole team training to RNCSF staff which all team members found to be highly effective in helping them to consider the perspectives and requirements of the young people the charity serves as well as considering the working environment and practices for the team.  The half-day training served as the impetus to look at how we support young people in schools, our alumni and staff and will feed into a renewed antiracism strategic plan and safeguarding strategic plan.  Most notable have been the conversations that carried on happening and continue to take place—her expertise created in us a desire to learn more and do more—plus the team really enjoyed coming together to develop skills as a group. It was a pleasure to have Aisha attend our London Head Office and to open up a discussion on race, racial literacy and Black history. It was an informative and insightful session and one that was elevated by Aisha’s transparency about her own experiences, thoughts and opinions. The session was a safe space for our colleagues and was enjoyed by all. Ray Winters, CEO – Novate Global Markets (Mitsubishi)
