Events

Since 2019, ACEN has held events designed to support, challenge, and inspire educators, parents, and students.

Our annual Anti-Racism Conference for Educators launched at Dulwich College and has since been hosted by leading schools including St Paul’s School, City of London School, North London Collegiate School, and, in 2025, Eton College.

Our Junior School Conferences, held biannually, help schools reflect on early-stage interventions, particularly within the curriculum. These have taken place at Francis Holland School, Regent’s Park and Francis Holland School, Sloane Square.

Our Annual Parent Summits, originally held online, have since been hosted by Emanuel School, Wimbledon High School, and The American School in London. These events support parents with guidance on navigating school systems and entry points at various stages. They also feature panels with current students and parents sharing lived experiences, alongside schools exhibiting their offerings.

Our Bi-Annual Teacher Recruitment and Retention Conferences, hosted by Westminster School and City of London School for Girls, have focused on inclusive hiring practices and sustainable career pathways for Black educators and aspiring teachers.

In 2025, we launched our Inaugural Headteacher Conference, hosted at St Paul’s School for Girls, bringing together school leaders to explore strategic and structural approaches to embedding race equity in leadership and governance.

We have also hosted several events for younger students, including at the Black Cultural Archives, and organised network trips, such as visits to the Royal Academy of Arts, to broaden cultural awareness and enrich the educational experiences of Black students and families. In addition, we have facilitated student outreach programmes, both in person and online, on behalf of companies such as PwC and Hachette, who are actively seeking to increase the number of Black students accessing work experience and graduate schemes.

We are deeply grateful to all the schools that have generously hosted our events and to the thousands of attendees who continue to join us and contribute to our growing network.

Our guest speakers have included:

  • Lord Simon Woolley, Crossbench Peer and Founder of Operation Black Vote
  • George the Poet, Spoken Word Artist and Social Commentator
  • Professor David Olusoga, Historian, Broadcaster, and Author
  • Marcial Boo, Chief Executive of the Equality and Human Rights Commission
  • Jahnine Davis, Child Safeguarding and Adultification Specialist and Co-Founder of Listen Up
  • Jeffrey Boakye, Educator, Author, and Broadcaster

Together, these events reflect our commitment to creating spaces where anti-racism and racial equity are not only discussed but structurally embedded, sustained, and actioned throughout education.
